Night Vision Scopes
Night vision scopes enable machines shooters to see in the dark, in a sense. They work by forming images from radiation wavelengths, or amplifying visible light levels so that they appear dark to the human eye.
The military has been using night vision equipment since the 1950s. Since then night scope technology has gotten increasingly better and more compact. The infared illuminators on night scopes increase range and image brightness even in total darkness. Like red dot sights, Night scopes require a power supply unit to run the night vision electronics, and many manufacturers nowadays even produce noiseless power supply units. Typically they are powered by small batteries and last at least a hundred hours.
